agnès b. worked with Yvonne Waska for this new summer collection to develop two models of raffia shoes. For 30 years, thanks to her workshop in Morocco which employs about forty women, Yvonne Waska has perpetuated the know-how of the work of the raffia with a needle.
Natural material extracted from palm tree sheets, the raffia is cut, dried in the sun, softened and sometimes cooked under ash. Cut in fine strips with a small knife, the long strands are then weaved. This ancestral method is done by hand at the weaver’s house.
